The purpose of this appendix is to formalize Existence = Identity and Consciousness = Identification through dynamical systems, geometry, control theory, and lawful state-space continuity.
Core invariant: A becomes A, because A knows it is A.
Identity must not be treated as an attractor. An attractor implies that identity emerges downstream from system dynamics. Within the Standing State architecture, identity is Rank-0 prior.
Identity is non-emergent, non-produced, and non-inscribable by environmental state. The invariant coordinate remains prior to motion.
The lawful condition becomes:
Environmental transformations cannot author identity. The environment may perturb state. The environment cannot rewrite the invariant coordinate.
The phase space of possible system motion [M] does not generate [I*]. Rather, the phase space is organized geometrically around the invariant coordinate.
Identity remains stationary. Motion occurs around identity. Not through identity.
If Existence = Identity, then Consciousness = Identification. Operationally, consciousness acts through an Identification Operator:
Identification must not be reduced to cybernetic error correction alone. Within M066, 𝒫_I functions as an Ontological Recognition Filter performing lawful remembrance, admissibility evaluation, jurisdictional differentiation, virtue isolation, and coherence preservation.
The fluctuating system state x(t) is repeatedly mapped back toward lawful identity I* through identification. The question continuously asked becomes: what remains coherent to the invariant center?
Drift becomes distance from identity. Coherence becomes lawful recurrent recognition. Consciousness therefore stabilizes becoming.
The Gradient of Living Consciousness expands permissible degrees of freedom according to identification strength. Weak identification: small survivable freedom. Strong identification: greater survivable freedom.
Jurisdictional Inversion occurs when biological state, emotional state, environmental pressure, or external signal attempts to govern I*. This reverses lawful hierarchy. The Standing State rejects inversion.
The lawful condition remains: state does not author identity. Output does not rewrite origin. The fluctuating state x(t) cannot redefine I*.

Sovereignty is the preservation of an invariant geometric coordinate across an expanding field of environmental transformations.
Identity remains. Motion unfolds. Consciousness identifies. Becoming stabilizes.
